The expansion at Glenaire in Cary, NC, included the addition of new independent living, assisted living, dining and other amenities that effectively doubled the size and population of the community.
Independent living at Glenaire in Cary, NC, grew by 192 new apartments in 10 different style units with balconies and under-building parking. The assisted living space now has 37 new one-bedroom apartments that share a common elevator, dining venue, living room, and covered entry.
The biggest challenge was creating a cohesive campus. Each existing amenity was studied to determine the best way to supplement and improve offerings for all residents. The expansion incorporated a theater, dining area, bar, chapel, art studios, along with a new wellness center and a courtyard with a putting green and enjoyable outdoor spaces. The existing community center was also renovated. Along with updated dining, the multipurpose room, entry rotunda, reception desk, conference rooms and gift shop were all redesigned.
